E-commerce law
Running an online store requires a set of documents and settings that must be consistent with each other — terms and conditions, a complaints policy, a privacy policy and cookie consent. Inspections and customer disputes almost always come back to these documents.
Who it is for
- You are launching a new store and need complete documentation
- Your store runs on templates downloaded from the internet
- You are handling a customer complaint or withdrawal from a contract
- You need cookie consent and data processing brought into line
Key areas of work
- Tailored terms and conditions
- Complaints policy and withdrawal process
- Privacy policy (GDPR)
- Cookie notice and consent setup
- Legal audit of the checkout flow
- Trade mark registration
- Ongoing legal support and monitoring of legislative changes
How we handle it
In an audit we walk through the entire purchase flow as the customer sees it — from price and delivery information through order confirmation to the withdrawal notice. Most shortcomings sit in details that can be fixed quickly.
We draft the documents around what you actually sell. Different rules apply to goods, to digital content and services, and to cross-border sales. A downloaded template will not reflect those differences.
Frequently asked questions
Are downloaded template terms and conditions enough?
+
They may get you launched, but they rarely survive an inspection or a dispute. Templates do not address your specific product range, delivery model or cross-border sales — and that is usually where the problem lies.
Does an online store need a cookie banner?
+
If you use anything beyond strictly necessary cookies — analytics, remarketing, advertising pixels — you need consent obtained before they load. The banner alone is not enough if the scripts fire regardless of the answer.
